and this is what I heard Him say:
God spoke to me today from Exodus 4:1 where Moses said, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me…?” and this is what I heard Him say:
“Your doubtful ‘what ifs’ stymie your spiritual effectiveness. It did for Moses and it will for you. When I called Moses to deliver My people, rather than enthusiastically jumping on the opportunity, he conjured up a doubtful “what if they do not believe me or listen to me…?” Now, don’t be too critical of him. You often do the same. I called you to be ‘My witnesses’ (Acts 1:8) and rather than enthusiastically doing that, you too come up with the ‘What if they don’t believe me?’ or ‘What if they ask a question I can’t answer?’ or ‘What if they turn against me?’ You don’t have to go down the doubtful path that leads to spiritual ineffectiveness. You can take another approach that leads to spiritual effectiveness. You change your doubtful ‘What if?’ into a positive trusting ‘What if?’ The positive ‘What if?’ will go like this: ‘What if they do believe me and become a follower of Christ?’ Or, ‘What if they ask the question that I can answer?’ Or, ‘What if they join me in witnessing? So today, be bold. Don’t let your doubtful ‘what ifs’ stymie your spiritual effectiveness!”
