One of the most profound statements of the Bible is this, “God ... has spoken to us” (Hebrews 1:1). His message to us is written in the Bible, His Word. The Bible itself says, “everything that was written in the past was written to teach us” (Romans 15:4). The fact is God speaks to us through the Bible, and therefore, we must hear what He says. The daily devotionals on this site are from my journey of listening to what God says in His Word and then stating what I have heard Him say to me specifically from some part of my daily reading. When you read the passages you may hear Him saying something from a different part of the passage. I suggest that you first pray to the Lord and ask Him to speak to you as you read. Then read the chapter from your Bible. Lastly, read the thoughts that impressed me. The old adage goes, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Similarly, if you “read a chapter a day you will keep the devil at bay.” So do it now. Open your Bible and read the chapter from the Bible and then read the thoughts that follow.
