and this is what I heard Him say:

Exodus 5

God spoke to me today from Exodus 5:21 where the people Moses tried to deliver said, "May the LORD look upon you and judge you! You have made us a stench to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword in their hand to kill us.” and this is what I heard Him say:

Many times, when you do My will, you will be misunderstood.  Don’t think for a moment that following My desires will always be easy, pleasant, painless, or even make sense to you or those around you.  It won’t be.  It was not for Moses.  Moses did exactly what I asked him to do and the people he tried to rescue completely misunderstood him.  That shook Moses to the core.  So much so that in his own words Moses accused Me saying, ‘…You brought trouble upon this people …. You have not rescued Your people at all’ (Exodus 5:22, 23).  Let Me remind you that the goal of your life is not prosperity, security, protection, happiness, fun, or success; the goal of your life is ‘faithful obedience to Me.’ You see, when you are obedient to Me you will discover that others will completely misunderstand you (you may even question yourself).  But ultimately, either later in this life or in eternity itself, you will be rewarded for your faithful obedience.  So faithfully obey what you know to be my will today, even if you don’t fully get it and know that you may be misunderstood for your obedience.
