and this is what I heard Him say:
God spoke to me today from Genesis 16:2 where He says, “Abram agreed to what Sarai said” and this is what I heard Him say:
“Bad advice complicates life. Be careful what advice you heed today. Even those closest to you can offer bad advice, like Sarai. She offered bad advice to her husband. She suggested that Abram sleep with the handmaid Hagar in order to fulfill My promise of a son. Though it was politically correct and acceptable to her—it violated the bond of marriage that I sanctified. Never substitute human advice for Mine. I have given you My advice in My Word. Search My Word for the advice you are looking for. Study it carefully, don’t twist it to suit your own needs, and be patient with Me to fulfill My Word. Had Abram listened to Me carefully, he could have kindly said, ‘Sarai, God promised to give us a son without compromising our marriage.’ So when someone offers you some politically correct, but morally wrong, advice today, weigh that advice on the scales of My Word. Don’t compromise the eternal on the altar of the immediate. So today, be sure others give you advice that harmonizes with My will. Heeding bad advice really complicated life for Abram, Sarai, Hagar, and Ishmael—and it has the potential to do the same for you.”
