Genesis 23

Read Genesis 23

God spoke to me today from Genesis 23:4 where Abraham says, "I am an alien and a stranger among you" and this is what I heard Him say:

“You are a stranger in the world. You are an alien in it. Your true citizenship is in heaven with Me. Even Abraham knew that. He longed for a better country—a heavenly one.* Still he had to tend to the affairs of this life, like burying his dead. So he had to purchase a piece of property to do so. Other than that he was content with living in tents. So it is with you My child. This world is not your home. You are just passing through. Don’t get too attached to it, nor the things in it. They all shall pass. You will not bring any of it with you. What you will bring are the souls of others who have come to faith through your witness and testimony. When you live a fully devoted life to Me, the world will think of you as ‘strange.’ Indeed, you are, if you are a Christian. They will consider you an outsider who does not fit in. That’s okay. You don’t fit in there—you will fit in here with Me. Today, remember you are a stranger in the world.”

*Hebrews 11: 8-16
