Genesis 50

God spoke to me today from Genesis 50:19-20 where Joseph said to his fearful brothers, “Am I in the place of God?   20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” and this is what I heard Him say:

“I override every evil intention for ultimate good.  It’s true, but often hard to believe.  It’s especially hard to believe when you are in what appears to be an evil crisis.  Especially when you are rejected, hated without cause, falsely accused and punished, abandoned, isolated, alone, or forgotten.  It’s even harder to believe when everything seems to be going wrong: you lose your job, home, friends, family, a child or a spouse through death or divorce.  In such circumstances you tend to blame Me and lose focus of the fact that I am working ultimate good by controlling every little detail in My universe.  Nothing is out of My control.  Joseph never blamed Me.  Instead he humbled himself under My mighty hand, I lifted him up.  Now once he was lifted up, he did not abuse his power by seeking revenge, although he could have.  Instead, he forgave.  Joseph’s brothers were sure that he was only kind to them for their father’s sake, and now that their father was dead, they believed that Joseph would justly seek revenge.  However Joseph knew, what you need to learn, that even the evil intentions of others I override for ultimate good.”
