and this is what I heard Him say:

Read Leviticus 21

God spoke to me today from Leviticus 21:6 which says: "Priests … must be holy to their God and must not profane the name of their God."  And this is what I heard Him say to me:

“Priests are special!  Because My priests are special, by that I mean holy, they must not act in such a way as to degrade My reputation to just the 'ordinary,' 'common,' or 'profane.'  Priests represent My people to Me.  Therefore, My priests are held to higher standards in ceremonial cleanliness.  In Moses’s times, they could not touch the dead, must only marry virgins, may not be unkempt, and must not allow his children to be prostitutes. Personally, they had to be physically without defects.  These are high standards, because I, the LORD, am a holy God.  I am still holy, today.  Through the redemption of My Son, Jesus Christ, the church has become a ‘holy priesthood’ (1Peter 2:5).  Likewise, I expect My church to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul and to live such good lives among unbelievers (1Peter 2:11-12).  So today, be special.  Live special, because as priests you are special!”
