and this is what I heard Him say:

Read Leviticus 5

God spoke to me today from Leviticus 5:1 which says: “If a person sins because he does not speak up when he hears a public charge to testify regarding something he has seen or learned about, he will be held responsible.”  And this is what I heard Him say:

“It’s not just that you do wrong, it’s also that you don’t do right!” Sin is not just a wrong that you have done, it's also not doing the right thing when you should.  When you see someone in need, and My Spirit prompts you to help, and you ignore My prompting and pass up the opportunity to help, you sin.  I stated this clearly in the New Testament, ‘Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins’ (James 4:17).  Anytime you omit to do what I have made clear to you, you err.  So today, when My Spirit prompts you to help a needy person, visit a shut-in, call a hurting friend, or reach out to someone in need, do so! Even if it is a total stranger.  Just do it. Why?  Because it is sinful for you, not just when you do wrong, but also when you don’t do right.  Doing and not doing both matters equally.
