and this is what I heard Him say:
God spoke to me today from Leviticus 6:4 & 7 which says regarding the “guilt offering:” “When he sins and becomes guilty … 7 the priest will make atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be forgiven for any of these things he did that made him guilty." And this is what I heard Him say:
“You’re guilty but forgiven!” Let Me remind you that the words “guilty” and “forgiven” are legal terms. I know sometimes you feel guilty because, in fact, you are guilty. You have violated My will, My word, My commandments, and My precepts. With that violation comes the responsibility to pay the consequences of your actions. Guilt is a legal obligation to satisfy justice. I have spelled it out clearly in the New Testament: “The wages of sin” of which you are guilty, “is death” (Romans 6:23). Now, in My mercy, I have withheld from you the severe consequences of the debt that you owe. In My grace, I have granted forgiveness, which means that I have legally released you from any obligation to pay the debt. How could I justly do that? By the sacrifice; not the animal sacrifice that merely covered your sin. Animal sacrifices were just a foreshadow of the real one that takes away sin—the sacrifice that My Son, Jesus, made. You see, your sin was released from you and assigned to Him. He paid it in full. Legally you are forgiven the debt you owe. Now, that’s what I mean when I say, “You’re guilty but forgiven!”
